Hello! My name is Chaylee Nicole Brock, and this is my website, where I will be sharing my writing, my thoughts, my passions, my crafts, and even my puppy!
I was born and raised in east central Indiana (Grant County, Indiana, to be exact), and I still live in my small hometown, because being close to family is important to me.
I attended Ball State University, where I studied English and graduated in 2013 with my Bachelor of Arts in English with a concentration in Creative Writing. My education at BSU included a significant emphasis in editing, and I served as a fiction editor on Ball State’s literary magazine, The Broken Plate. Since graduating, I have worked as both a freelance and ghost writer. I worked for a while as the Editor in Chief at Channel 27 News & Entertainment, Grant County, as well.
At the moment, I am helping a local candidate for elected office run her social media page, which includes a lot of ghost writing. If given the opportunity, I would love to secure part-time positions in future political campaigns and offices, as I’ve recently realized that, in addition to following politics as a hobby, I enjoy writing about politics, social issues, and elections.
While my passion is writing and editing, I am currently unable to make a full-time career of it. Shortly after graduating from BSU, my health took a turn for the worse, and I was forced to go on disability.
I am battling multiple chronic illnesses, but I do everything I can to not let it stop me from doing the things I love, even if I can’t do them in order to make a living.
One of those things I love (and have always loved) is crafting. I realized a few years ago that I’m fairly decent at painting, so I’ve been painting canvas and wood for a while now, which tends to sell pretty well online. If I can sell one or two items a month, it helps supplement my Social Security payments, which, at times, barely pays the bills.
In 2017, I became a dog mom to the sweetest, most rotten Havanese puppy in the world — my baby boy, Bowie. He is an emotional support animal, and he brings so much joy and laughter to my life every single day. He definitely keeps me on my toes, too.

Everyone who meets Bowie falls in love, and he is the only dog I have ever known to love every human being he meets in return.
Whenever I have a bad day, when I’m in a lot of pain or feeling sick, Bowie is right by my side. Havanese are said to be “velcro dogs,” and he fits that description very well, especially when he knows I don’t feel well. I tell him all the time that he takes very good care of me.
I can’t imagine my life without Bowie.
If you’re ever having a bad day, you can also let Bowie cheer you up by visiting his own webpage here: chayleebrock.com/bowie. I will be adding new pictures to that page from time to time.
